PPAC-121 1500m & 200m Track Meet

Track enthusiasts from across Phnom Penh including para, special and wheelchair athletes and guests from overseas joined a fine morning of track racing this Sunday 12 November. Across three heats in the 1500m, for female, male and male wheelchair categories, and a total of four heats 75 minutes later in the 200m sprints, 38 athletes brilliantly showcased their athletic skills. Results - 1500m Race The top two in the female heat were separated by only five seconds at the finish , as they both hit PBs. A strong penultimate lap from the 2 nd placed runner couldn't overturn the lead established by 1 st placed Muyngim's fast start (2 nd quickest first 100m of the morning!). A personal best of over a minute for Sokung in second spot also secured a personal points PB (best performance across all distances) as Sokry also hit a big points PB coming 4 th in a first 1500m race. Sunday 12 November - 1500m & 200m Track Race Arrive: 6:15 AM Start: 6:45/7:15 AM (1500m/200m) Location: Olympic Stadium Track Entry: FREE + 2000 ៛ Track Fee Runners of all levels are welcome to join us for our 1500m and 200m track meet on the morning of Sunday, 12th November at Olympic Stadium Track. PPAC-120 5km Road Race

Our November race was delayed by torrential overnight rain for an eventual 6:40 am start and despite the inclement early morning we had an excellent turnout with all starters finishing in 19 to 34 minutes. This week Neil led the front pack at around 20 minute pace leading to more great individual performances. Any runners interested in pacing to different target times in future events (20, 25, 30 minutes etc.) let us know if you would like a pacer, or would like to guide the pace yourselves.
