. Four runners finished comfortably below 30 minutes for their first time in a PPAC 5km race, all improving their previous best times by more than 3 minutes.

We were pleased to see regular runners continue to improve, with consistent performances and PBs across all levels of performance.

Analysis and Consistency
We had six sub-1.00 rated pacing performances this week, including the top pacing rating of the year (and top-3 all time) of 0.05 for Sharon Lui, and 21/32 finishers scoring under 10. The Pacing Consistency rating is designed to give runners an idea of how well they have balanced their efforts across the race. Ratings under 1.00 indicate excellent pacing, and the lower the number, the better, in general, for optimum performance.
Several runners hit club milestones with Ma Mon taking part in her 25th event and Muyngim and Sanket both participating for the 20th time - well done!

Volunteers & Supporters
A special thanks as always to our volunteer officials and helpers on the morning - Seavleang, Kimkheang, Neil and Jack, as well as Andarge & Addis Ethiopian Restaurant for putting on a first ever post-run Ethiopian breakfast & coffee for us!

We would like to extend our gratitude to all the runners and supporters who made this running event a success.

PPAC-121 1500m & 200m Track Meet

Track enthusiasts from across Phnom Penh including para, special and wheelchair athletes and guests from overseas joined a fine morning of track racing this Sunday 12 November.

Across three heats in the 1500m, for female, male and male wheelchair categories, and a total of four heats 75 minutes later in the 200m sprints, 38 athletes brilliantly showcased their athletic skills.

Results - 1500m Race
The top two in the female heat were separated by only five seconds at the finish
, as they both hit PBs. A strong penultimate lap from the 2nd placed runner couldn't overturn the lead established by 1st placed Muyngim's fast start (2nd quickest first 100m of the morning!). A personal best of over a minute for Sokung in second spot also secured a personal points PB (best performance across all distances) as Sokry also hit a big points PB coming 4th in a first 1500m race.

In a packed male heat the 5-minute barrier couldn't quite be broken, however, there were PBs for Jack and Tes, as well as a first (and impressive) points scoring performance for 4th placed Dalic, running just under 5:30.

Four athletes took part in the wheelchair heat, with a group of three sticking together at the front before 1st place finisher Heng Savoeun pulled away strongly with a 65.4s final lap to finish comfortably 10 seconds ahead of 2nd & 3rd place.

In the overall analysis Neil and Muyngim were separated by just 3.2 points at the top of the table, with Sokung and Dalic leading their respective youth categories.

Results - 200m Race,
In the female heat, Muyngim led the way again, dipping under 33 seconds, just ahead of Sot Yin and guide. Four athletes ran sub-30 in the male heats, with the second heat providing the top 3 senior male times where the battle for 1st place saw Neil overcome a slow start to pip Kham Sovanndara to the line.

In the wheelchair race, Heng Savoeun repeated his 1st place performance from the 1500m, crossing the line more than a second ahead of 2nd placed Van Vun.

In the overall points classification there were more strong PBs for Sokry (2nd of the day), Micaiah (1st youth), Nicolas and Seavleang.

Volunteers & Supporters
A special thanks as always to our volunteer officials and helpers on the morning - Haruka, Seavleang, Kimkheang, Vanong, Meyjou and Ian, with additional help from Lorinda, Jack, Sanket, Martin, Neil and others who helped out while also taking the opportunity to race as well. Additional thanks for the supporters of the para athletics team who provide their assistance to many of the athletes on and off the track, enabling everyone to take part in the event practically seamlessly!
