PPAC-102 5km Road Race

The club's eighth 5km of the year was held in warm and humid conditions and saw a good turnout with plenty of new faces.

We had nine first timers and ten athletes taking part in their first PPAC 5km race with everyone finishing within 44 minutes. Well done to this week's first place category finishers Sreyleap and Sarah in the youth and senior women's respectively, and Soboros and Markus in the equivalent men's categories.

We had two strong PBs for youth athletes with previously recorded 5km times and there were two performances with highly consistent pacing (sub-1.00 pacing consistency) this week with exceptional pacing from Matt and Mark.

Special mention for our regular participants with Ma Mon joining two other athletes taking part in this race with 20 or more events completed.

This year's 5km events are part of the 2022 5km road race series where every finish gets you a score. We'll be tracking various statistics including total races completed, PBs, best laps and consistency over the course of the year so join as often as you can and chart your progress with Phnom Penh Athletics Club!
