PPAC-112 200m & 800m Track

The club's first track racing of the year made great use of early morning weather conditions at the stadium. There were two heats in the 200m and all athletes ran together for the 800m. The session was rounded out with some long jump practice.

Some obstructions around the track meant the 200m was run in lanes 3 & 4 and the 800m started from lanes 2 to 4.

We welcomed one first time athlete and also took the opportunity to conduct more volunteer training for timing and officiating.

Switching from road running to track is a fun challenge and great opportunity to focus on technique and try to see how fast you can really go!

As always a special mention and thanks to the volunteer organisers on the morning, including additional assistance from all the athletes - on a morning where everyone had the opportunity to run.

PPAC-147 5km Road Race [4 May 2025]

For our May 5K we were pleased to welcome several new participants for their first event with Phnom Penh Athletics Club , including 7 visiting athletes from SheRuns Club. Developing inter-club competition is one of our priorities, so this week's race was a great step forward for club-level athletics in Cambodia. The race report and full results are below. Results Craig (1st male) led from the start, putting several seconds into the chase pack on the first lap and only extending his lead from there. PPAC-141 5km Road Race [3 November 2024]

PPAC's November 5km was back at the regular Sokha course. 21 runners made it to the start line in wet and humid conditions though the rain stayed away for most of the race! Results Adam provided the pacing duties for the sub-20 group and it looked promising early with a strong pack including Paul, Andarge, Tom, Hugo and Vincent sticking with him for much of the race. Eventually two athletes were able to break the elusive 20-minute barrier, while several others strode ever closer to that impressive mark. We love to see athletes pushing boundaries and attempting challenging goals, so there is never any shame in falling short of a target.
