The race report and full results are below. See you soon for more fun training sessions and athletics events including our next 5km race on 21 July!
ResultsAnna (also top overall points scorer), Jack, Andrea and Martin were respectively senior and youth category leaders this week. Seven runners with previously recorded times set personal bests (PB), improving on their previous times by margins between just 2s and over 4 minutes!
We're always happy to welcome new runners try out the road 5km race, and
it's fantastic to see regular runners continue to improve, with consistent
participation & finishes and PBs across all levels of performance, and especially rewarding to follow the progress of runners attending our regular training sessions!
Several runners hit club milestones with Andarge becoming only the
second athlete after co-founder Neil to take part in 50 events – well done on this impressive achievementππ. In addition, Blandine ran her 10th event and Mihhail completed a fifth 5K,
while we had several more PPAC first timers and welcomed back runners
we hadn't seen for a long time –
always great to see everyone still keeping fit!
Analysis and Consistency
Runners produced five sub-1.00 rated
pacing performances including four sub-0.50 ratings – which may be a record for a single event.
The Pacing Consistency rating is designed to give runners an idea of how
well they have balanced their efforts across the whole race. Ratings below
1.00 indicate excellent pacing, and the lower the number, the better, in
general, for optimal performance in aerobic running events like the 5km.
A special thanks as always to our volunteer officials and helpers on the morning - Jack, Kimkheang, Sivmuyleng, Sreng, Michele, Blandine, Meyjou, Kanha and Neil!
We would like to extend our gratitude to all the runners and supporters who made this running event a success and whose support allows PPAC to continue to organise community athletics activities for all.
