Phnom Penh Athletics Club – Become a Member

This year Phnom Penh Athletics Club is opening club membership for the first time and we are excited to invite new members to join our club.

Full members will enjoy a range of benefits by being a part of the club:

  • Join weekly training sessions with 3+ sessions per week.
  • Free entry to all Phnom Penh Athletic's races (10+ events) throughout 2025.
  • A 2025 Phnom Penh Athletics Club racing singlet
  • Voting rights at our club general meetings
  • Discounted entries to partner events and races.
  • And more exciting benefits are in the works!
  • Only $30 for the entire year!

For those who aren’t sure if they are ready to commit, we have also created a social membership at $10/year which allows athletes to join training sessions, but none of the other benefits. And this can be upgraded at any time during the year by simply paying the difference of $20.

Membership is an important next step in Phnom Penh Athletics Club's journey as it will allow us to create an even better environment for all of our athletes who are trying to improve and perform at their best.

Membership will allow us to build the ideal club culture based on our values and ensure that all of our members are supporting each other and the club, and working towards a common goal. Have a read of our club values below and you’ll understand exactly what it means to be a part of Phnom Penh Athletics Club.

The club values are a foundation of our club and guide all events and activities that we conduct. It is a requirement that all PPAC members abide by these club values at all times:
Inclusivity - Everyone is welcome to participate at Phnom Penh Athletics Club. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, nationality, religion, sex, disability or sexual orientation. We are welcoming to athletes of all levels and abilities and will strive to provide activities that everyone can participate in.

Every achievement matters - We believe that every athlete is on their own journey and that there are significant achievements at all levels of ability. We value the performances of athletes at the front, middle and back of the pack.

Improvement - Everyone is welcome to participate for their own purposes, however the club takes improvement seriously. Our events and activities are all intended to provide athletes opportunities to improve their athletic performance.

Professionalism & Accuracy - Phnom Penh Athletics Club is known and appreciated for setting the highest standards for professionalism and accuracy in racing in Cambodia. It is important to us that our race distances are accurately measured and timed so that participants can rely on the race results and analysis we provide.

Variety of distances & events - There’s more to running than just an annual half-marathon! We believe that all runners can benefit from participating in the shorter and faster distances. It is often more developmentally appropriate for many runners to focus on shorter distances. We do not pressure athletes to “move up” in distance and we do not believe that long distance events are inherently better or more valid than middle or short distance events.

Club identity
- We believe there is a lot of value to maintaining a strong club identity and sense of community. Belonging to a club provides a lot of additional motivation to athletes to continue to perform. We encourage all club members to maintain that strong sense of community and treat our club members as teammates.

Agenda-free Zone - Phnom Penh Athletics Club events and activities are designed only to serve the athletics goals of our participants. Our activities are not a place for individuals to promote their own agendas, businesses, other clubs or events. If any individual, business or club is interested in a mutual partnership with Phnom Penh Athletics Club, they must discuss with the club committee in advance. The committee will not accept any sponsorship or partnerships unless they are confident that the club and all members stand to benefit.

Governance - The club is governed by a committee and we believe in strong governance. Our club committee will be publicly announced, so that members are aware of who their committee representatives are. We will strive to have an AGM at the beginning of every calendar year, at which any full member is welcome to attend and cast votes, or nominate for committee positions.
