Membership is an important next step in Phnom Penh Athletics Club's journey as it will allow us to create an even better environment for all of our athletes who are trying to improve and perform at their best.

Membership will allow us to build the ideal club culture based on our values and ensure that all of our members are supporting each other and the club, and working towards a common goal. Have a read of our club values below and you’ll understand exactly what it means to be a part of Phnom Penh Athletics Club.

The club values are a foundation of our club and guide all events and activities that we conduct. It is a requirement that all PPAC members abide by these club values at all times:
Inclusivity - Everyone is welcome to participate at Phnom Penh Athletics Club. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, nationality, religion, sex, disability or sexual orientation. We are welcoming to athletes of all levels and abilities and will strive to provide activities that everyone can participate in.

Every achievement matters - We believe that every athlete is on their own journey and that there are significant achievements at all levels of ability. We value the performances of athletes at the front, middle and back of the pack.

Improvement - Everyone is welcome to participate for their own purposes, however the club takes improvement seriously. Our events and activities are all intended to provide athletes opportunities to improve their athletic performance.

Professionalism & Accuracy - Phnom Penh Athletics Club is known and appreciated for setting the highest standards for professionalism and accuracy in racing in Cambodia. It is important to us that our race distances are accurately measured and timed so that participants can rely on the race results and analysis we provide.

Variety of distances & events - There’s more to running than just an annual half-marathon! We believe that all runners can benefit from participating in the shorter and faster distances. It is often more developmentally appropriate for many runners to focus on shorter distances. We do not pressure athletes to “move up” in distance and we do not believe that long distance events are inherently better or more valid than middle or short distance events.

Club identity
- We believe there is a lot of value to maintaining a strong club identity and sense of community. Belonging to a club provides a lot of additional motivation to athletes to continue to perform. We encourage all club members to maintain that strong sense of community and treat our club members as teammates.

Agenda-free Zone - Phnom Penh Athletics Club events and activities are designed only to serve the athletics goals of our participants. Our activities are not a place for individuals to promote their own agendas, businesses, other clubs or events. If any individual, business or club is interested in a mutual partnership with Phnom Penh Athletics Club, they must discuss with the club committee in advance. The committee will not accept any sponsorship or partnerships unless they are confident that the club and all members stand to benefit.

Governance - The club is governed by a committee and we believe in strong governance. Our club committee will be publicly announced, so that members are aware of who their committee representatives are. We will strive to have an AGM at the beginning of every calendar year, at which any full member is welcome to attend and cast votes, or nominate for committee positions.

PPAC-147 5km Road Race [4 May 2025]

For our May 5K we were pleased to welcome several new participants for their first event with Phnom Penh Athletics Club , including 7 visiting athletes from SheRuns Club. Developing inter-club competition is one of our priorities, so this week's race was a great step forward for club-level athletics in Cambodia. The race report and full results are below. Our next race will be a track meet on 01 June. Please stay tuned to our regular channels for a race announcement. Results Craig (1st male) led from the start, putting several seconds into the chase pack on the first lap and only extending his lead from there. Running alone did not seem to affect his plan as he ran away to a new PB and a comfortable victory. Things were a little closer in the chase pack with Hugo , Mathieu and Yohann working together to push each other and keep the race honest. Eventually, it would be the experienced Mathieu who was able to...

PPAC-146 3000m & 200m Track Double-Header [6 April 2025]

For our April track meet , we had a mix of club members and guests showing up to put in some hard work and test themselves against strong competition. The 3000m is an excellent fitness test, athletes can use this distance as a benchmark and it is very helpful for setting paces for training zones or for predicting goal race paces for longer distances. The 200m is a pure speed event, and something that a lot of us forget to train for, but is always a fun race and often has exciting close finishes! Race report and full results and analysis below: Race Report In the 3000m, Hugo P. was the men's leader from the gun, demonstrating consistent pacing with a clear goal time in mind, achieving a 12.5s PB. Styvenn (2nd) earned himself a PB by shedding a whopping 23.6s off his previous best. Styvenn is one of the brave few who show up every Tuesday morning at 5AM to grind it out in our Early Bird Threshold session. Clearly...

PPAC-141 5km Road Race [3 November 2024]

PPAC's November 5km was back at the regular Sokha course. 21 runners made it to the start line in wet and humid conditions though the rain stayed away for most of the race! The race report and full results are below. See you soon for more fun training sessions and athletics events including our next 3km race on 17 November! Results Adam provided the pacing duties for the sub-20 group and it looked promising early with a strong pack including Paul, Andarge, Tom, Hugo and Vincent sticking with him for much of the race. Eventually two athletes were able to break the elusive 20-minute barrier, while several others strode ever closer to that impressive mark. We love to see athletes pushing boundaries and attempting challenging goals, so there is never any shame in falling short of a target. Eventual first place finisher Paul was more than happy to let the lead pack go during the opening Park Lap, confident in his ability to reel them in as the race unfo...
